SKID ROW
Known to be the largest homeless community in the world, our team goes out to serve by bringing food and supplies, praying, and connecting those living on Skid Row with resources and programs at our center.
DREAM kids
The DREAM kids program teams up with Adopt-A-Block to help make a difference in the lives of the youth situated in under-resourced neighborhood sites through sports, games, and other activities such as face painting and dancing!

EVERYONE LOVES
SHORT TERM MISSIONS!
We’ve had so many great teams come out to join us and serve Los Angeles, and they’ve left with a renewed sense of passion and purpose!
“I have partnered with the Dream Center three different times. Each time has been incredible for our high school students. Every time my students have returned from a week at the Dream Center, they feel a renewed sense of Jesus in their lives and want to make an impact in His name in our community.”
“I have been coming to the L.A. Dream Center since 2014 to serve on Short Term Missions. Participating in Skid Row outreaches and getting to help with Kidz JAM are especially life-giving to me. The Dream Center takes the Gospel truth of loving God and neighbor and puts it into practice every day. “
“I loved my time serving with the Los Angeles Dream Center. Their Short Term Missions program is a perfect blend of training and practical, hands-on ministry. I saw the students in our group transform, step out of their comfort zone, and leave their week with a whole new perspective.”

HISTOric journey
Our Short Term Missions experience has been around for quite some time, and has absolutely been the heartbeat of the Dream Center up until this very day.
1994
The dream center is founded
In 1994, Pastor Tommy Barnett and his son Matthew founded the Dream Center, a nonprofit organization located in the heart of Los Angeles. Originally a hospital called the “Queen of Angels,” it is now a faith-based non-profit where peoples’ lives are transformed through transitional housing programs and outreach services, all free of charge.
1996
ADOPT-A-BLOCK
Adopt-a-Block is the program that started it all. Pastor Matthew Barnett began by “adopting” the immediate neighborhood of the church, knocking on doors to offer help to struggling families, and building relationships with them. The program serves over 20 low-income neighborhoods across L.A. Dedicated staff and volunteers serve these areas by cleaning, delivering meals, interacting, and praying.
1996
CLOTHING OUTREACH
Originally known as “His Hands Extended,” our clothing outreach has grown significantly over time, and through the generous donations of individuals, corporations, and other organizations, we distribute an average of 30,000 – 40,000 pieces of clothing per month. By supplying this basic necessity, we have been able to help relieve some of the pressures that people face everyday.
1997
MOBILE FOOD BANKS
Though the Dream Center had food resources on-site, there was limited accessibility for those without reliable transportation. Pastor Caroline and a small group of volunteers started delivering food to the homes of those in need around the local neighborhood. Today, our mobile food trucks visit over 20 sites, serving 25,000 people per month.
2008
FOSTER CARE INTERNVENTION
The program started when Pastor Caroline became aware of how many families could not be reunited or were at risk of losing their children due to the inability to afford basic necessities such as furniture, clothing, and food. We have been able to help over 600 families avoid separation and reunite by delivering these necessities and assembling furniture for families.
2009
KIDZ JAM: “KIDS, JESUS, AND ME”
Short for “Kids, Jesus, and Me,” the Kidz Jam program reaches at-risk youth between the ages of 3-12 in low-income areas of Los Angeles. Serving an average of 1,700 children per month, staff and volunteers spend quality time with the kids by playing games, helping with homework, and most importantly, sharing the gospel of Jesus.
2020
Food Pantry
At the end of our Drive-Thru & food line, we opened up our Food Pantry as a continuation of our relief efforts to serve as a free food resource to our community. Individuals are able to shop for groceries and household items as part of our efforts to restore L.A.
