Dream Center Counseling Center

The Dream Center Counseling Center (DCCC) is a faith-based resource available for all of our residential programs. Through DCCC, people of underserved communities who are enrolled in these programs are treated of emotional disturbances, such as trauma, substance addiction, depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, loss and grief, and other psychological distresses. Therapy and a variety of classes are offered and provided free of charge for everyone enrolled in a residential program at the Dream Center. It is also offered as a great training site for future psychologists who aspire to learn and grow in their careers.

Our History

DCCC was founded in 2013 to provide mental health services for the staff, volunteers and residents of the Los Angeles Dream Center. Therapists who work or train at the Counseling Center are prepared to treat a wide variety of mental disorders and emotional disturbances, such as trauma, substance addiction, depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, loss and grief, and other psychological distresses.

Services We Provide

Psychotherapy: Individual, Couples, Family, Group, and Play Therapy

Psychoeducational classes:

  • Communications skills

Therapy is provided free of charge for the Dream Center’s residential program members. Other clients are charged a discounted fee, which is based on a competitive sliding scale.

What Sets Us Apart

Jesus-Centered
As therapists, we integrate the Word and prayer into what we do. Indeed, we regularly reflect on what the Bible has to say concerning issues that impact our work as therapists. We look at our clients’ cases not only in light of their emotional import, but also spiritual principles.

Our Staff’s Credentials
Every licensed staff has a doctoral degree—either a PhD in Clinical Psychology or a PsyD (Doctor of Psychology). Some of our staff holds dual degrees in Psychology and Theology.

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Clients who see a therapist at DCCC have the opportunity to explore behavior, thoughts and feelings that may be affecting life without their knowledge.

Commitment to Train Future Psychologists
DCCC provides advanced practicum training for pre-licensed therapists. Due to the complexity of our clients’ presenting problems, only experienced pre-doctoral graduate students are eligible to train at DCCC.
