Up
to 80,000 people...
are homeless on any given night in
the city of Los Angeles. An estimated 60% to 80% of them
struggle with some degree of mental or emotional problems
that keep them bound and unable to make it off the streets.
Most go hungry several days a week.
The problem is enormous but still comes down to one person
being helped at a time. The Dream Center has many outreaches
geared toward feeding, loving, and helping those who are
homeless in our city. We know we can start by providing
hot, nutritious meals and developing relationships that
can help us see lives changed.
Many of those living on the streets may go days without
someone acknowledging their existence and struggle to
remain connected to the world around them. By going out
to meet them, bringing them a plate of food and inviting
them to church, these simple acts can help reconnect people
to the reality that there is another way.
We start by meeting basic needs- food, clothes, friendship
and numerous programs that work to help lead people into
the next steps for a better life.
We provide food for thousands of people who are homeless
each week, as well as clothes, vocational training, our
recovery program and shelter. We see hundreds of those
we reach out to who are living on the streets, introduced
to Jesus each week.
