TIMOTHY POOL

Timothy Pool is a 45-year-old graduate of the Dream Center Discipleship program. Living and growing up in a small town in Aurora Illinois, he never dreamnt he would end up on the streets of Skid Row. But years of wrestling with drugs and alcohol brought him there. During his struggles, he became chronically suicidal. The suggestion to come to a service at the Angelus Temple was God’s first tug at Timothy’s heart. “I saw a Dream Center bus and my friend said I should go”, and that decision completely changed Timothy’s life.

“The service (at Angelus Temple) was exactly what I was looking for. I hadn’t seen anything else like it”. After about a month there, he knew God wanted him enrolled into the discipleship program. “God’s been drawing me nearer little by little, for the past nine years now, but the program is what He used to really get a hold of me. I can tell now that he’s slowly been stripping me away from the things of this world. Now I only desire the things of Him, and not of this world.” Timothy shared of his love for children, and the talents God has given him in the areas of writing and drawing. He told us that he intends to make a life of that ministry, “no other (lifestyle) makes sense to me.” Timothy is now a graduate of the program, but does not intend on stopping there. He wants to work for his Savior. “If I can at least help one person… everything after that is a bonus.”
