The Effect

The ripples of the Dream Center’s impact are reaching from the surrounding community, throughout the city and is extending to the entire country and the world. With 273 active ministries reaching out at all times of the day and night, thousands of hurting people in Los Angeles now have a way of hope.

Our Mobile Food Truck grew 70% in the first 2 years of its outreach. It now serves 2 ½ to 4 tons of food each week to starving families in impoverished neighborhoods, feeding approximately 22,000 people each month.

Through the Adopt-A-Block program, over 600 volunteers rally together each Saturday morning, armed with rakes, trash bags, footballs and smiles to reach 30,000 people with the practical servanthood love of Christ. Because of the consistency of the ministry, relationships have been built and now over 1,500 people are bused into church from all over the city for every service.

Whether outside a high school in Santa Monica at 3:00 pm or walking down Sunset Boulevard at 3:00 am, Hope for Homeless Youth reaches over 2,000 hurting youth that live in abandoned buildings and dumpsters all over the city with its many outreaches that go on in our city every week.

Every afternoon you can hear “Jesus Loves Me” sung in both English and Spanish voices at any Metro Kidz sidewalk Sunday school in neighborhoods around the city. Over 3,000 kids are loved on and taught about Jesus each month.

The Discipleship program housed at the Dream Center currently has over 150 men and women who are serious about straightening out their lives and getting back on the right path.

These are just a few of the ministries that have had a tremendous impact on the Rampart area and other locations in Los Angeles. In the first four years of the Dream Center’s establishment, prostitution and gang violence dropped 73%, the homicide rate dropped 28% and rape dropped 53%.

The mayor and city council have publicly acknowledged the dramatic impact of the Dream Center and praised its efforts. In 1998, President Bush visited the Dream Center and deemed it as “a model for faith-based organizations.”

The work of the Dream Center is rapidly spreading all across the country and throughout the world, as people realize that there are hurting people in every neighborhood and city.

Beyond the thousands of lives being affected by the 130 Dream Centers that are now across the country, thousands internationally are being reached through Dream Centers in Canada, Sweden and Australia.
