| Members of the Youth Department bus in teens from 9 different sites on Saturday and tell of huge success in the lives of teens.
Niesha - She came from my Adopt-A-Block site. She was staying with her sister at Imperial Courts and I really felt like there was something special about her so I asked if she would want to come take a look at the Dream Center and the café. She has since been employed with the café for about a year now. When she started working she was not a Christian, but through working at the café she now spends her days singing along to worship songs and talks about God. I am believing that one of these days she will start attending church and will get saved.
Emon- He came from Imperial Courts and started coming to our Saturday youth activities. Since then he has attended summer camp and is on fire for God. His mom and sisters now attend our church and he has recently been enrolled in our DC academy.
Karina and Mercedes- These girls are so special and came to the Dream Center through their parents who started attending while the girls were still in the foster care system. The week the girls got to move back with their parents was the week of our youth summer camp. During that week they experienced Jesus in a real way and now both are attending our DC academy and Karina is employed at the café. Their family is one of our active families that we visit on a weekly basis helping them with their everyday needs.
Maria and Zoriah- These two are sisters who came off of our Ramona Gardens bus and started attending service. They have since both given their lives to Christ and are at church every time the doors are open. They both attend our DC academy and Maria is actively involved with Mike Jacob’s dance team. Summer camp changed both of these youths’ lives. Since then, Maria has become a leader on her bus and both see the joy in everyday life.
Ty-One Sunday morning while I was driving the Westlake Bus route I saw Ty getting involved as a leader on her bus and saw leadership potential in her. She has now been working for the café for 9 months and I have seen her growth for the Lord increased. She recently came to me because there was a possibility that she would have to go move in with her sister and would live too far away to continue working in the café and attending the Dream Center. By the end of our conversation she was in tears because she didn’t want to have to move away and not be actively involved with our church. This is one life that has been changed by the power of God and help of our youth ministry.
