| Project Prevention reaches 123 brand new families in month of June!
In the United States over the years, the number of children in foster care has reached well over 500,000. Poverty, homelessness and unemployment are some of the main contributing factors to children being placed in foster care.
Considering the current economic condition across the country, many experts believe it is possible that the number of children entering foster care will rise in the coming months. At the Dream Center we are working to prevent future cases were children are placed in foster care because of poverty with our ministry Project Prevention.
Project Prevention receives referrals from social workers of families that they feel we can help. The goal is to make life-long changes for families that end up in this unintentional, unfortunate situation. The goal is also to change the destiny of the children’s lives from ending up in foster care to staying with their families were they belong.
Three times a week Project Prevention goes out and delivers basic necessities to families that are at risk of losing there children to foster care because of poverty. They deliver things such as food, baby supplies, toiletries, household items and so much more. The Hand of God is definitely moving in this ministry. In the month of June alone Project Prevention reached 123 families and 38 brand new families! Because of God and donations this ministry is growing and doing incredible things. They will not stop here, because the hope is to reach as many families as possible to maybe one day put this issue to rest.
