The Dream Center of Los Angeles is thrilled to be partnering with the Community Pregnancy Clinic of Simi Valley/Moorpark, and is excited by the prospect of free; pregnancy care, pregnancy testing, ultrasound exams and counseling it will be providing to the LA community.

This is the visionary work of Pastor Dave Wilkinson, Executive Director for the CPC ministry his vision for this partnership came when he prayed and asked God what was the next step for the ministry of the CPC. He had one medical clinic in Simi Valley (about 30 miles north of LA), a satellite clinic in Moorpark (by Moorpark Community College), but felt that he wasn’t able to stop there. As he prayed, he felt the Lord say to him, “Go where the battle is.” Pastor Dave Wilkinson immediately knew that God meant Los Angeles.

There are over 40 abortion clinics in LA and very few pro-life ministries. In fact, organizations like Planned Parenthood specifically target inner city minority communities for their abortion clinics. As a result, African American women are 4.8 times more likely to have an abortion than white women simply because of the access to abortion clinics.

At the time, Pastor Dave Wilkinson had an old motor home that he wanted to convert into a Mobile Ultrasound Clinic so he could take it into LA and give women the option of choosing life for their babies. Pastor Dave Wilkinson shared this vision at a banquet last year and a couple actually donated their own RV! It was much nicer than the one he had and was appraised at $69,000!

His organization then had the new motor home outfitted with a state of the art portable ultrasound machine (through a grant from Focus on the Family) and the Body of Christ came together to wrap the RV, remodel the interior, and prepare for battle!

Pastor Dave Wilkinson also thought that it was important to partner with other Christian Ministries in LA to work together, encourage each other and not duplicate services.

He contacted the Dream Center and was excited to hear that Pastor Matthew wanted to talk to him about the Mobile Clinic. He said that when they met, Pastor Matthew said, “We are So on board with what you’re doing and want to partner with you in any way that we can…I believe it is the missing piece to our ministry here at the Dream Center.” He went on to explain the Dream Center has dozens of ministries meeting various needs in the community but nothing in the area of pregnancy care and abortion prevention.

So now, every Wednesday from 11:00am to 3:00pm you will see the CPC’s Mobile Ultrasound Clinic parked in the Dream Center parking lot serving the community by offering free pregnancy testing, ultrasound exams, counseling and local referrals for medical, adoption and housing assistance. They have an experienced team of Christian nurses, counselors and prayer warriors eager to show the love of Christ in tangible ways.

When a woman comes to the clinic who thinks she might be pregnant, the nurses will not only confirm her pregnancy, they will show her her baby on the ultrasound and lovingly discuss her options. They are also available to share with women who have had abortions how God forgives and heals.

The heart of this ministry is to help women know all the facts so that they choose life for their unborn child. They also want to help women who have had abortions and to educate the community on God’s plan for healthy sexuality.
