In Los Angeles we are now living in a city where the unemployment rate is at an alarming 11.3%. Increasing unemployment rates affects so many other areas of a person’s life. When one is unemployed they are faced with the question, pay the bills or pay for groceries?

Because of this our Food Truck Outreach has dramatically grown. Today our Mobile Food Trucks go out to thirty-two different sites. They target single parent families at schools and many housing projects in high-crime neighborhoods reaching the young and old. The Food Trucks reach over 40,000 people every month!

Recently our sites have increased due to the economic crunch. As families ask that question of food or bills, the Dream Center would like to solve their food question. Our Mobile Food Bank has begun reaching 9,250 more people per month then last year. In April alone, we reached 47,188 people! Our Food Trucks are just one example of a way the Dream Center can serve the ever-growing needs of the community.
