| Each month the Food Truck feeds 32,000 people in over 9,000 families.
Food Trucks go out to serve the community five days a week, going to 31 sites in some of the poorest areas of Los Angeles, including many of the inner city projects and high crime areas, to both the young and the elderly. They reach 1,500 people in over 400 families each day they go out. Each month they’re able to feed over 32,000 people in over 9,000 families.
The main goal of provisions is to provide relief for low-income families in at-risk neighborhoods. This is done through taking food out to the people in their own neighborhoods where the need and hurt are. This relief from provisions opens doors to share the help available to them through our vocational training, free medical programs, clothing for children, and other necessary programs at the Dream Center; ultimately building them up to become independent citizens, in love with Jesus.
Their number one priority is families with children. They found the best locations to be elementary schools, so that is where they started. Parents had the convenience to pick up food while picking up their children and didn’t have to leave them home alone. Food truck also goes out to different housing projects and Skid Row, Los Angeles’ homeless district. Because of the growth of economic issues lately, the food truck sites have grown significantly, but thankfully they are a part of the Dream Center which grows to fit the needs of the community
